Fareham Wine Cellar Portfolio Tasting October 22nd 2008

We have now finalised details for our Portfolio Tasting which is Wednesday 22nd October 2008 at Lysses Hotel, High Street, Fareham.

It will be an excellent opportunity to try various wines, maybe some that you would not normally consider, and to have a "refresher course" on some of those you do know. Each exhibitor will be more than happy to talk you through their wines or answer any questions you might have.

Tickets are available, in advance, from The Fareham Wine Cellar in person or on 01329 822733. The cost is £10.00 per person.

In addition to the tasting, the chef at Lysses Hotel has created a special three course dinner menu for attendees of the tasting at the bargain price of £17.95 per person. Tomato and basil soup
 
Chicken liver terrine flavoured with port and brandy
 served with olive oil toasts
 
Portabella mushroom crammed with a creamed cheese and fennel mix and glazed under a hot grill

  Spicy chick pea tagine with apricots and flaked almonds
served with lemon thyme scented couscous 
 
Pork fillet roasted in the oven brushed with a honey and seed mustard glaze and finished with a red wine and seed mustard sauce         
 
Fillet of haddock roasted in the oven set on a base of crushed new potatoes   with chives and tomato served with a white wine and cream sauce
 
Confit of duck leg slowly cooked with herbs and garlic
served with a rich red wine sauce
