Portsmouth Wine Society

Portsmouth Wine Society (originally known as the Portsmouth Wine Appreciation Circle) was formed in 1976 by Peter Richards with the objective of studying and appreciating professionally made wine.

The objective is achieved mainly by evening tastings arranged by Committee members with wine educators, Masters of Wine (MW), growers, producers, merchants and wine promotion bodies.

Membership is open to everyone but prospective new members must be proposed and seconded by an existing member.

The easiest way to join is to come along to a tasting as a guest and get to know other members. We are an extremely friendly group with a mixture of ages and knowledge.
